Club Games
We like a play a few games to wind down at the end of the evening (or stretch our legs, for those of us who never got round to doing any
juggling!) Here are the favourites.
Ball-in-the-bucket
This game is a great club tradition. Can you guess the objective? You got it - you have to get the ball in the bucket. It's played like this:
- The bucket is stood on one side of the hall, with someone standing near it holding the ball. Everybody else stands somewhere between them and the opposite wall.
- The person holding the ball throws it up in the air, into the middle of the hall.
- The ball is passed from one person to another in volleyball-style passes. If it touches the floor, or the same person hits it twice in a row you have to start again.
- Once everybody has touched the ball at least once it is bounced off the wall opposite the bucket, and then makes the return journey, with the same rules.
- Once everybody has touched it on it's way back, it has to end up in the bucket.
It it absolutely forbidden to pick up and move the bucket. That would be cheating, and we don't do that. Oh no.

The Leg Game
This is a more recent acquisition for the club, but you may have played it at school.
- One person is "on" (or "it", depending on regional tradition). They start with the ball.
- They have to hit someone else with the ball below the knee. Once that person is hit they are also "on" (i.e. there is now a team of
two people). Once there is more than one person "on" they cannot move whilst holding the ball.
- The people who are "on" continue catching more people until there is only one left - that person has won the game.
