Who are we?

(Last updated: 4th Jan 2004)

We are the Newcastle Juggling and Circus Skills Club, formerly known to its friends as Fenham Juggling Club. It's actually quite old for a juggling club, dating back over fifteen years. We haven't always been in the same building, but the club was in the Fenham district of Newcastle since it started until December 2006 when we relocate d to Wallsend.

In fact, this surprisingly well preserved piece of evidence, recently discovered not far from the club (see right), suggests that there may have been jugglers in the area since the time of Hadrian's Wall. We like to imagine them juggling in the Bigg Forum for the crowds, or entertaining the legionaries in the camps.

What do we do?

Juggle, obviously, and practice other kinds of circus skills (unicycling, diabolo, devilstick, contact juggling, balancing, club swinging, pole spinning). Hat and plate manipulation have been popular lately. We often play a few games at the end of the evening before retiring to the pub.

We like to run some social events from time to time. These range from a night out in town to bowling or ice skating and the Great, Not Quite Annual, Metro-Assisted Tap&Spile Pub Crawl. These often involve our friends from the Durham City Jugglers.
